Gerda Koort didn't start her photography journey as a career, but as a deeper connection of wanting to have memories with her dog.. and needed to take photos of her handmade jewellery. Photography for her grow quickly into deeper purpose - started as a personal exploring but quickly turned into something more meaningful.

Her journey as a photographer started to grow quickly on covid time. She used to say '' I will never become a wedding photographer'', but here she is blossoming as a wedding photographer. Her first wedding was a 1 hour day documenting the ceremony and portraits. After that she started to play more with light and compositions - she was so moved and saw the meaning behind of that day. She quickly started to grow herself, learning to give a far more better understanding and feelings into the photos.

The biggest tip she can give is this: focus less on perfection and more on being present. Comfort, authenticity, and emotional openness shape the strongest images. Wear something that feels like you and that you’re comfortable moving in, because comfort always translates on camera.
Trust, she believes, is essential. '' Trust the process, trust the people you’ve chosen, and allow yourself to experience the day as it unfolds rather than worrying about how it looks. ''

She will never ask you to become someone you’re not for the sake of a “perfect” photograph. Her advice is always the same: be present. Feel the day as it is. Cry if you need to. Laugh too loudly.
